Tricount helps users organise their expenses in simple and transparent way. The challenge was to redesign an outdated website to outline the new features.
Tricount is a financial mobile app used by millions of users worldwide. The product is the leader of sharing expense apps on AppStore and PlayStore. Tricount is loved by its users for organising expenses in a simple, transparent and collaborative way.
Tricount website was outdated and did not resonate with the main audience: young adults who are making the first steps in managing their budgets, often together with a partner or roommates. Although the application is used by millions and it is number one in France, the website was not presenting it attractively. We had to rethink not only the design but also the content.
I empathised with the audience of young adults and students, who are managing their expenses with others. I created a set of moodboards of fresh, youngish feeling websites. It helped to align with stakeholders on the direction of the design.
I mapped the old website to identify the weak and strong points. The objective was to refresh the website section by section. I simplified the navigation so the visitor is not distracted by the amount of information anymore.
I collaborated closely with a content writer to create new content that would explain how to use the application in simple steps. As a result, the new content is clear and oriented to the right audience.
As a final step, I created several versions of the new website for stakeholders to select. I created the set of high-quality assets and I hand-over designs to the Developer in the team.
